Port Macquarie-Hastings Council respectfully acknowledges the Birpai people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live. Council commits to building positive relationships, respect and opportunities with the local Aboriginal community.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is committed to ensuring arts, heritage and culture play a strong role in the development of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region’s future, identity and sense of place.

ArtWalk 2020 – The Year of the Longest Footpath Art Gallery

ArtWalk 2020 is transforming the Port Macquarie-Hastings region into the Longest Footpath Art Gallery and providing a platform for artists, craftspeople, live performers, musicians and venues to offer residents and visitors an array of art installations, interactive art, live artist works and more. ArtWalk offers the perfect platform for celebrating creativity in the region, offering a range of programs to explore the diversity of artists, local creative businesses, venues in pop-up gallery spaces, artist markets, local making opportunities and satellite events. You will find a range of creative disciplines on display including painted artworks, pottery, crafts, fashion and jewellery.

Artist, creatives, schools and community groups have partnered with local businesses to use shop front windows as their own gallery space for the week. Each shop front acts as a gallery DAY or NIGHT to be enjoyed at a day and time of your own choosing. Look for the footpath stickers located outside each ‘gallery’ location or ArtWalk poster in the window and discover the creativity from the safety of the footpath.

Please note: Where there is more than one artist at a location, the numbers generated by the izi.Travel guided walk are different from the ArtWalk numbers. Consequently, the ArtWalk numbers are in brackets in the izi.Travel site descriptions.

ArtWalk 2020 is suitable for all ages.

The Port Macquarie region welcomes visitors, however if you are unwell, or reside in (or have recently visited) an area that has been identified as a COVID-19 Hot Spot, please stay at home. Everyone must follow the latest health advice by maintaining physical distancing, practicing good hygiene and staying home if unwell.
